Beaches of the Bras d’Or

Looking for a saltwater swim that won’t turn your toes blue? Try one of the Bras d’Or’s warm-water beaches:

• Whycocomagh Provincial Park Beach, near the northwest Bras d’Or villages of Whycocomagh and Waycohbah

• Little Narrows Beach, on the Iona side of the cable ferry across St. Patrick’s Channel

• Grand Narrows Beach, near the old ferry dock, on the east side of the Barra Strait Bridge.

• Bras d’Or Lakes Beach (sandy) at Groves Point Provincial Park, at the north end of the St. Andrews Channel (near the village of Bras d’Or)

• Kidston Island Beach, a short boat ride from the government dock at Baddeck, on St. Patrick’s Channel.

• Johnstown Beach, in the village of Johnstown on the southeast shore of Bras d’Or.

• Big Pond Beach, in the community of Big Pond on East Bay

• Ben Eoin Beach, a popular beach in the village of Ben Eoin on East Bay
